3.7.2 RollerLinkPlate One of therollerlinkplatesshallberemovedusingthe samemethodasdescribedforthepinlink. Removethetwo rollersfromthebushi ngsandplacetheplatewi ththetwo bushings in thetestingmachinewiththeplatesupportedto preventmovementwhenpressure is applied. Asingleaxial loadshallbeslowlyappliedtotheend of thebushing, press- ingthebushingout of theplate. Aloadthati slessthanthe specifiedpress-outloadshallconstituteailure of thetest. 3.8 MINIMUMDYNAMICSTRENGTH Standardandheavyseriessinglestrandchainconfomingto thisspecificationshallbecapable of survivingaconfonpance testattheminimumdynamicstrengthlisted in Table 1. Con- nectinglinks, offsetlinks, andmultiplestrandchainsarenot subject to theconformancetest. 3.8.1 ConformanceTest Initially, themanufacturershallconductaconformancetest onatleastonerepresentativesamplefromeachdesignfamily of oilfieldchain. Adesignfamilybeingdefined as different sizes of chaindesignedtothesameparameters, andmanufac- turedbythesameprocessingoperat
Thereafter, themanufacturershallconductaconformance test on arepresentativesample of eachmodel of oilfield chainatleastonceeveryfiveyears. Thesamplechainshallsurviveaconformancetestcon- ductedattheminimumdynamicstrengthlistedforthesubject chain in Table 1. Note: Thedynamicstrengthvaluesarenotvalidcharacteristicsfor designing actual applications. Neither the specifieddynamic strengthvaluesnortheconformancetestresultsare to beinterpreted asallowableworkingloads. Note: Theconformancetestisadestructivetest.
